Creating the Perfect Playroom

The first step is to pick the room you want to make a playroom. From there you will want to clear the room out. Think about what you want the playroom to encompass. Take the time to paint the room while it’s empty. There are fun types of paints that you can use like chalkboard paint and whiteboard paint. This will give the kids the opportunity to really make this a place of imagination and fun. Really, what kids don’t want to draw on the walls? Now that you have the base of the room the way you want it, start organizing the toys you want to keep. Throw away ones that are broken or that the kids don’t use anymore.

Now that you have what you need in order to put everything back you will want to do it in an organized way. It’s easy for us as adults to organize and put things away but you’ll want to make sure that you’re going to be organizing in a way that is easy for your kids to put back their toys. Organization bins that aren’t too tall for them to put their toys in is always a good idea. You can also buy a big bin that is usually used for outdoor cushions and use it to store the toys. This provides an easy way for your kids to clean up.

Clean Up

It is nice that your kids will be able to have their own place to play in, especially in the winter months. However, you still don’t want to have to pick up after your kids. This means that once you get the room all put together, you’ll want to make sure that you bring them in and let them see how it is supposed to look. After each play session, make it a habit that they must clean up before they can move onto the next activity. This will take patience and planning on your part. Give them enough time to do what you ask them to do.
